VENUE > Arriving to Lorient

Lorient is a city located in the West part of France, near the Atlantic Ocean. It can be easily reached by train (TGV lines) from Paris in 3 hours.

Since COVID event, there is no commercial flight to Lorient. But there are many possibilities to reach Lorient when you arrive in France. It depends on the city where you arrive: Paris, Nantes or Rennes.

If you arrive in France at:

 

  • Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport

    There are 4 possibilities, listed below.

    1. First possibility (recommended)

      1. In Terminal 2, go to the railway station Airport-CDG

      2. Take a train to Lorient (there is a change in Rennes, only 3 or 4 trains per day, duration:4-5 hours)

    2. Second possibility (recommended, the fastest)

      1. Take:

        • a shuttle (line 4*) to Paris Montparnasse railway station (duration: 40 min, frequence: every 20 min, tickets can be bought from the bus driver)

          or

        • a taxi to Paris Montparnasse railway station (fixed fare at 55 euros, duration: 30 min, but it depends on the traffic)
      2. Take a train to Lorient (duration: 3 hours)

    3. Third possibility

      • Take a flight to Nantes or Rennes and folllow explanations just after

    4. Fourth possibility

      • Take a shuttle (line 3*) to Paris Orly airport and follow explanations just after

    *Shuttle between airport and railway station are currently off because of COVID but the situation should be back to normal soon.

 

  • Paris Orly (ORY) airport

    There are 2 possibilities.

    1. First possibility (recommended)

      1. Take:
        • a shuttle (line 1*) to Paris Montparnasse railway station (duration: 40 min, frequence: every 20 min, tickets can be bought from the bus driver)

          or

        • a taxi to Paris Montparnasse railway station (duration: 30 min)
      2. Take a train to Lorient (duration: 3 hours)
    2. Second possibility

      • Take a flight to Nantes or Rennes and follow explanations just after

    *Shuttle between airport and railway station are currently off because of COVID but the situation should be back to normal soon.

  • Nantes (NTE) airport

    There are 2 possibilities.

    1. First possibility (recommended)

      • Take the IDDRG shuttle** between Nantes airport and Lorient.

        To Lorient: Monday 6 June in the evening

        Back to Nantes: Friday 10 June in the afternoon

    2. Second possibility

      1. Reach Nantes railway station by
        • bus shuttle(duration: 30 min, frequence: every 20 min, tickets can be bought from the bus driver)

          or

        • taxi (duration: 20 min)
      2. Take a train to Lorient via Redon (duration 2 hours)

    **for IDDRG shuttle booking, contact IDDRG organisers. A special IDDRG bus will leave Nantes airport to Lorient city centre on Monday 6 June at 6 pm.

  • Rennes (RNS) airport

    1. The best solution is

      1. Join the Rennes railway station by
        • bus and underground (duration: 1 hour)

          or

        • taxi (duration 20 min)
      2. Take a train (TGV or TER) to Lorient (duration: 90 min)
